Choreography (step three)

Our third and most important step was to create a choreography.
We started to create a choreography at the same day as we were given a task. We had plenty of ideas and because of that fact we did quite a lot of choreography that day which we were happy about. But after some time one girl couldn’t do all stuff which we create and unfortunately she came out of our group for a while. We didn’t stop to make a piece but we took into consideration that she will be with us later so after a while when she spoke with our lead teacher we decided to put her solo in this choreography and a duet with another girl so everyone will do something what they like and can do.
After that quite stressful day everything went well and we were creating some interesting and beautiful movements which perfectly matches with our stimulus. We also did many interesting shapes, placement and cannons.
The first time we showed choreography to Lucy was about 4 weeks after task was given. We worked hard and Lucy noticed it. What she said made me feel more enthusiastic and a little bit proud of myself and my team. She said: Choreography I feel that you have turned a corner with your approach to choreographic practice. During the first feedback session you presented a substantial amount of your choreography. The piece was well constructed and shows explicit links with your concept and response to the Kandinsky painting. As we discussed during the feedback session I feel that you had a good use of space and dynamic within the work. I think you could play further with the use of off centre positions as this would alter dynamic and audience perceptions. I would like you to think about the transitions from each phase, this could be much slicker. Overall I feel that you have improved leaps and bounds with your creative processes. Keep working hard in developing this work and I look forward to seeing the final piece during assessment week.
We have received quite a lot of good words but it didn’t make us lazy. On the contrary, we started to create even harder and more actively. We changed our directions, places and shapes many time but it always changed for the best.
Finally we finished our piece which last for 4 minutes and 27 seconds. It was a pleasure to create this choreography and it was also quite easy to do. Maybe because we loved music and the painting and everything just compatible together very well.
