Day 22 Collaborative Performance Project.

Today I came earlier to rehearse my song with Lucy in the theater. We didn't have a normal speakers because Juls wasn't there yet so we used a box speaker which is quite loud but not enough to hear it form above where I sit during the song. So it was hard for me to hear the music and uncomfortable to sing because sometimes I went faster then the music.

When Juls came to the theater he had a lot to do so I asked him if he needs any help. He asked if Jade and I could lift curtains up so we have more space on the stage. It was a pleasure to help him and also he told us his special technique of lifting the curtains.

This morning we also had a run through in the theater but unfortunately not everybody was in the college so it was hard to do it full out and also to space our choreographies. When we came to Lucy after that she told us that we need to change our turn section because the rest of our choreography is in a character and atmospheric and this section is just a beautiful dance which I agree about, but Simona really liked that section, it's her idea and I did a lot of replacements and changes already which I thought are better. I'm glad that Lucy told us to change it because this moment in choreography led us to standstill and we could make anything afterwards.

Simona and I also cut the music for our choreography ( Dirty Diana ). It was a really long process because we had to cut four sections from music where we didn't have choreography. We definitely would've choreographed a full length of music but the show is next week and we have to get it done today. So thanks for Juls who helped to us a lot and also have been patient. After we cut the music we had technical problems but we sorted that out without any help form Juls.

We also asked Jasmine if we can use two portable mirrors for our choreography ( Dirty Diana ). Fortunately she said yes but we still had to ask Juls about it. Aaand he said yes as well, so now we definitely using mirrors which will stand backstage during our dance.

In the afternoon Simona and I went to rehearsal room where we could create something with two portable mirrors. First but not least target for us was to change turn section. For a while we were stuck and had no idea how to stand up form the floor and want to do next. But then at one moment Simona suggested to do turn but against each other.

When afterwards I remembered that we didn't use one fragment which we really liked and then I thought it would look amazing if I was doing it in front and facing the audience and Simona backstage facing mirrors. There's also one trick: when Simona will do this piece, the audience will see her reflection in mirrors so it will seem like a 3 Simona's will be dancing. Simona was really excited about it and her expectations were met because it looked very interesting and also beautiful as we do it synchronously.

Our second target was to made an ending for this choreography where we wanted to use mirrors. We made it very fast because there was about 2 lots of eight left it at the end we finish as we start by sitting on the floor together.

Probably penultimate target for me was to clean all the transitions and maybe change something not that good into something more interesting because we already finished choreography and we are not more in a hurry to finish everything so now we have 2 more days to improve it.

The last target today was to show finished choreography to Lucy and to receive a good feedback on what we created. And as I hoped Lucy endorsed final version of Dirty Diana and I I breathed with relief.
