This morning we had a two hour lesson with Emmeline where one hour was technique class and another hour Collaborative Performance Project Rehearsal.
In technique class we did the same exercises which we did last week. I felt like I’ve improved a little bit because it was much easier for me to do and more comfortable. I also received small feedback from Emmeline during the lesson which is amazing because I feel like she sees me and I’m also doing something wrong so I can correct it. I also have been used as an example for everyone in a floor swing exercise which was also great for me. Today I felt that I’ve been seen and I felt more supported.
In Collaborative Performance Project Rehearsal we went through all the pieces that we’ve made with Lucy and Emmeline last week. I knew them all so I didn’t worry that I have to learn them again or be uncertain and feel uncomfortable in front of Emmeline.
After that we received a task form Emmeline. In this task we had to create an arm sequence for 3 lots of 8 in a group of 6 people. I felt really uncomfortable working in this group and there were 3 reasons why. Firstly, maybe just two people in a group put an effort to create something good. Secondly, everyone was just staring at me in expectation that I’m going to make something up. Thirdly, they didn’t appreciated my time, Emmeline’s time and didn’t really care about it which pissed me off but I couldn’t show it so I didn’t say a word.
In half an hour Emmeline did our positioning and we started to create a section of an arm and upper body sequence. Eventually we end up in pairs doing two different sequences and connected by some moves to each other.
In the afternoon we had a lesson with Lucy. Even though it was just an hour we did quite a lot. We did another section for the choreography and we also did the positioning for this particular section.
I hope I did well today, although Lucy did say anything to me so I'm not sure if I did everything right.
As a team we did work very well this time. Some of people were injured and some of them were tired so a lot of people was sitting down.
